Prince Royce, the biggest breakthrough artist the Latin music industry has seen in years, releases his sophomore Bachata album, “PHASE II”, tomorrow. “PHASE II” will be available worldwide, in stores and digitally.
“Recording this album has been the biggest challenge of my career. After having had such a successful debut album, the pressure to follow that up is gigantic but I worked very hard and I am extremely proud of this album. More than anything I’m just anxious for my fans to listen to the new material because as I was creating it I always kept them very present,” expressed the 22 year old artist.
“PHASE II” contains 13 brand new tracks. In addition, Wal-Mart and iTunes offer versions which include bonus content, Wal-Mart with an exclusive CD/DVD bundle and iTunes with an additional acoustic version of “Las Cosas Pequeñas” and a digital booklet containing images of the artist’s original songwriting notes which became the lyrics on the album.
“Las Cosas Pequeñas”, the first single from “PHASE II” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Tropical chart and just a few weeks later reached the #1 position on Billboard’s Latin Songs chart (including music of all genres) as well as number #1 in the Pop and #1 in the Tropical charts.
The album’s second single, “Incondicional” is a romantic fusion of Bachata and Mariachi music composed by Royce, Sergio George and Daniel Santacruz, which promises to become even more successful than “Las Cosas Pequeñas”. This song debuted at #10 in digital sales on iTunes without having had any radio airplay.
“Incondicional is one of those songs that is conceived magically. I thought to myself, since Bachata and Mariachi music have the same number of beats per minute, this could be a really natural fusion — the outcome ended up being truly beautiful,” noted Grammy-winning producer Sergio George, who produced PHASE II and co-wrote the majority of the album with Prince Royce.
The album also contains romantic and very danceable Bachata tracks such as “Te Me Vas” and “Eres Tu”, as well as the powerful “Dulce” which is included in a Bachata version and an acoustic version of Royce’s melodic voice accompanied only by renowned pianist Arthur Hanlon. “Dulce” is dedicated to young single mothers and promotes a message of strength and hope.
