Warner Music Group working with “Euphoria” across recorded music and music publishing
Warner Music Sweden’s Loreen is currently number one in seven European charts with “Euphoria,” the track that one week ago won a landslide victory at the Eurovision Song Contest and broke the competition record for the highest number of “twelve points” scores (awarded by the jury groups for their favorite song). “Euphoria” also holds the No. 3 spot in the UK— the highest chart position for a non-UK Eurovision entry since Johnny Logan’s “Hold Me Now” in 1987.
The 28 year-old songstress from Västerås, Sweden is currently No. 1 in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Finland, No. 2 in Holland and Sweden (where the single is six times platinum and spent six weeks at number one), and No. 3 in Belgium and the UK, making it one of the biggest successes from a Eurovision Song Contest winner in years. The song was co-written by Thomas G:son, a Warner/Chappell Music Publishing songwriter.
With her performances in much demand across Europe, Loreen is scheduled to perform on the internationally televised MTV World Stage in Gothemburg, Sweden on June 21st, alongside B.o.B. and Nelly Furtado, among others.
“Loreen’s ‘Euphoria’ is one of those rare hits that transcends language barriers and stands on its own as a powerful pop song,” said Björn Lindborg, General Manager, Warner Music Sweden. “While winning the Eurovision Song Contest was an ideal launch pad for such an infectious tune, Loreen was always destined to top charts globally. We can’t wait to help take her music beyond Europe, so that millions worldwide can experience this new, mesmerizing talent.”
