The Corridos Star is One of Today’s Most Streamed Mexican Artists
Warner Chappell Music (WCM) U.S. Latin has signed an exclusive worldwide administration deal with standout Mexican singer, songwriter, and musician, Gabito Ballesteros. With over 22.1M monthly Spotify listeners, he’s become one of the biggest in-demand Mexican music stars and has worked with major acts like Peso Pluma, Becky G, Fuerza Regida, Miguel Cornejo, Natanael Cano, and Piso 21. Most recently, his hit “LADY GAGA” with Peso Pluma and Junior H earned him his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.
On signing with WCM, Gabito Ballesteros shared: “Every step of my career has led me to moments like this, and I want to express my deep gratitude to my entire team, especially Nata and Emilio from Los CT, as well as my manager René Mejia. They are an essential part of my career, and celebrating this latest achievement together is truly special. Now, with the support of Gustavo and the entire Warner team, my Chappell family, I’m working on many new and exciting projects, and I couldn’t be happier about all that is coming up and getting to work with them!
Gustavo Menéndez, President, U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM, said: “Gabito is shaping the future of Latin music by blending traditional Mexican rhythms with modern melodies and production. His talent has reminded us that music and songwriting are universal, and we’re so proud to partner with him as he continues to cement his place as one of Latin’s top acts.”
Emilio Hernandez, President and Co-Founder, Los CT, added: “Gabito’s career has catapulted in such a short time, yet he’s always remained clear in what he’s wanted as a songwriter and artist. He is a superstar and his strategy for growth made it easy for us to find the perfect partners in Gustavo and Warner Chappell. I am looking forward to the great things we will do with Gabito and this team and all the success we’ll see.”
Born and raised in Sonora, Mexico, Gabito Ballesteros learned how to play the guitar and discovered his passion for singing at 10 years old when he joined the children’s mariachi at his local church. By age 15, he started sharing videos of himself singing on YouTube and in 2015, he released his first song “Yo Quiero Ser” with La Destructiva Norteño Banda. Ballesteros rose to prominence in 2020 with his single “El Rompecabezas” with Aldo Trujillo followed by “El Chaman” and “El Sereno,” among others. This year, he collaborated with Mexican superstars Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma on the smash hit “AMG,” which marked his first-ever Billboard chart entry peaking at No. 6 on the Hot Latin Songs chart – it also spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. He’s been recognized with various accolades, including two Latin Grammy nominations in 2020 for Best Urban Music Album and Best Urban Song. Ballesteros is signed to Natanael Cano’s record label Los CT.
