ADA RENEWS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH BRIT NOMINATED SONNY FODERA AND HIS SOLOTOKO LABEL

January 24, 2025

Sonny Fodera’s ‘Somedays’ becomes the only independent release to be nominated for the BRITs 2025 Song of the Year

ADA, the global independent music distribution and artist services arm of  Warner Music Group, has extended its partnership with Sonny Fodera’s label Solotoko. Founded in Ibiza in 2017 and now based in London, Solotoko not only releases Fodera’s music, but has also served up music from the likes of Dom Dolla, John Summit, Tita Lau, James Hype, Vintage Culture and many more.

The news comes after it was recently announced that Fodera’s massive smash, ‘Somedays’, is the only independent release to be nominated for Song Of The Year at the 2025 BRIT Awards.

Australian-born DJ/producer Sonny Fodera is coming off the back of a stellar run having released singles ‘Somedays’ (120 million streams), ‘Mind Still’ (50 million streams) and ‘Asking’ (200 million streams) within the last 18 months. ‘Somedays’ spent a total of eight weeks in the UK’s Top Ten peaking at Number Five and was the biggest selling UK independent single release of 2024. It was also his first song to chart in Australia and New Zealand – achieving Gold certification in Australia, as well as the UK, and Double Platinum in Ireland. Fodera has sold out London’s Alexandra Palace, two Warehouse Projects and two nights at the 3 Arena in Dublin in a matter of minutes, and completed his third road-block residency at Ibiza’s Amnesia, with news of a new 2025 residency moments away.

Fodera’s next single, ‘Tell Me’, set for release on February 7th, is an eagerly anticipated follow-up collaboration with Clementine Douglas who was recently named Breakthrough Vocalist at the DJ Mag Best of British awards. Their previous two releases – the UK Number Seven charting ‘Asking’, and ‘Angel’ – have amassed two million UK sales between them. Fodera is also set to headline his own curated festival at London’s Silverworks Island on July 12th to an audience of 20,000.

ADA and Sonny’s label team Palm Projects have enjoyed a close working partnership since ADA struck a deal with Sonny Fodera and his management team five years ago. Together they have developed and grown Fodera’s career, which has seen him generate over two billion global streams to date across his catalogue.

In a joint statement, Sonny Fodera’s manager Greg Burnell and MD of ADA’s UK business Howard Corner said: “From doing a deal together in lockdown to the best selling British independent act & a BRIT nomination – what a journey! Sonny’s sound, songs and shows connect deeply with the public and his impact on dance music in the UK in the last couple of years has been incredible. The tracks are starting to connect overseas now and this new deal means we can really start to build a truly global story. We couldn’t be happier to extend our partnership together and take Sonny & Solotoko to the next level in 2025.”
